Eat lots of high fiber foods like beans and avocados. You will feel fuller and your tummy will thank you!

I LOVE AVOCADO! Ever mix 'em with black beans and tomatoes, corn and cilantro, and then eat that with light tortilla chips? That is a meal in itself and very healthy for you!

The best thing that works for me is not eating after 6 every night and drinking lots of water. Eating later you end up going to bed and not burning enough calories to make up for it.

Filling your day with lots of fruits and vegetables is my best tip. They add fibre, are packed with nutrients, and help to fill the void. Don't stint yourself too much, add a teaspoon of your favorite salad dressing, instead of a tablespoon or use an herb/oil/vinegar dressing you make yourself.

For the most part, I stopped eating bread, except on rare occasions, and switched to eating flour tortillas instead. I cheat a few times a month though, when the overwhelming desire for a PBJ just overwhelms me. PBJ on a tortilla, just doesn't work well for me. I also stopped drinking so much soda, even though I drink diet (being diabetic) and bought one of those Soda Club Machines, to make my own carbonated (or sparkling) water. I sometimes also use the Soda Club Machine to make my own special blend of half sparkling water-half splenda sweetened lemonaid. Lemonaid Soda is really good! And of course, smaller portions always work, as do smaller plates. And for snacking, I've eliminated cookies, cakes, most candies, and opted for a more no/low calorie snack of Popcorn. There are so many herbs and spices you can use to flavour popcorn, so it's not so boring. All these have worked well for me. I've lost about 80 pounds, which is amazing when you consider because of a chronic health condition I have, I've been on steroids for 3-1/2 years now. I seem to have hit a plateau now, so I'll be inventing some more ways to get off these last 60 or so pounds I want to lose. Wish me luck everybody! Thanks. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Being a diabetic, I have found that keeping a food journal keeps you accountable. Once you start tracking everything you eat, it really opens your eyes. I use a spiral notebook as I have no clue how to start blogging. Kudos to all you bloggers out there!
