We already know Zooey Deschanel is one talented gal—whether cracking us up on hit new sitcom New Girl or getting her folk on with her band She & Him, this quirky star has proved that she can pretty much do it all. But here’s a question for you: Can she do the National Anthem? Well, let’s find out, because she sang it last night at Rangers Ballpark to kick off Game 4 of the World Series. What do you think, Bettys?

She sounded a little scared at the beginning (and to be fair, we can’t really blame her—she WAS singing in front of roughly 50,000 people, after all!), but she finished strong with a nice solid belt. Her style is also a nice change of pace from the usual overly-embellished pop star version of the National Anthem that we usually hear these days; Zooey even puts in mind just a little bit of classic cabaret singer and actress Lotte Lenya. Good for you, Zooey!
