As we leave one holiday weekend behind, we find ourselves heading directly into another—and you know what that means: festive holiday videos! This time, we bring you Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt with their rendition of Nancy Wilson’s “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve,” arranged for two voices, guitar, and ukulele. And really, who doesn’t love a ukulele?

Isn’t it delightful? But just you wait; it gets cuter. Said Zooey on Hello Giggles:
“I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year’s duet for all of you!”
I don’t know about you, but I love the idea of Zooey and Joe dancing crazily in hair and makeup to Marvin Gaye every. Single. Lunch break. In fact, I kind of want to do that right now myself, preferably with them in tow.
Anyway, Zooey also took care to point viewers/readers/listeners to the original recording by Nancy Wilson and to Joe’s website, so be sure to hit those up as you gear up for this weekend’s festivities.
Happy New Year, Bettys!
