“I’m so excited for the wedding! My royal wedding outfit will be a nod to a few legendary British designers — the world has Anglophilia, and you bet I’m going to dress like it, including a dress by the very same designer as Princess Diana’s gown in 1981. With a few thousand cameras there, you can also bet I’m not going to be the woman in a beige sheath.”

“For a wedding, you want to be seen but not stand out – leave that to the bride! I love wearing clothes that are comfortable yet stylish, especially if I’m sitting for a while. The one thing I can’t live without if a killer pair of (tall) shoes. And since a wedding is a great excuse to buy another pair of heels (my one vice!)…I’m going all out. I’ll top it all off with a pink lip stain (that doubles as a blush!) and a bronze smoky eye. Congrats, Kate!”

“When dressing for something like the royal wedding it is important to go for a classy look. I would wear this light-gray silk-satin dress by Lanvin, as it is an appropriate length and it has sleeves. I love these white Christian Louboutin pumps, with a white Valentino silk clutch embellished with crystals.”

“Getting invited to the royal wedding would be a dream come true. Since it’s never going to happen, I thought to have a little fun with my look. No need to worry about price tags in a fantasy, right?”

“I hear a major point of wedding contention is the prince’s love for chocolate causing a break from the wedding fruit cake tradition. This dress is an homage to that. Surrounded by all that royal bauble, it’s hard for us writer types to compete – but it IS fantasy after all… I’d want a flash of gold to draw my own prince to me. Perhaps I’ll run into David Beckham across the bar?”

“I put a great deal of thought into what I’d wear. You know, just in case I get a last minute invite. I’d forgo the traditional ladies’ day suit in lieu of a modern yet classic dress, like this one in my best color, orchid. I’ve read proper wedding attire should include hosiery, so I’d make sure to wear some. I’d spice up my orchid colored dress with a pop of bright purple, perfect for a spring wedding. Just one last thing– a diamond ring in the shape of the infinity–because I have no doubt that’s how long the love of Kate and Will’s will last!”

  1. Oooh fun! I’d definitely wear something by Victoria Beckham bc she’s going to be there! And the. Something else by an American designer. And yes definite a hat or fascinator!

  2. I love TotsyMom’s orchid dress, so sophisticated and sexy. Also love the lake blue dress, Vera’s gown, Aly’s dress…oh, let’s face it, I love it all!!

  3. Honestly, I don’t think I could deal with the ceremony, it’s sooo long! But, the chance to dress up….makes me think. Can you sneak a book and read while all the stuff is going on? Or watch a movie in your seat?

  4. Wow – great choices all. Not sure what I would wear, knowing me I would go with a safe coat dress combo in a light green. Ah, I can’t wait to watch on Friday, seeing the outfits of all who are lucky enough to attend is going to be an added bonus!

  5. Most of these fashions are not appropriate for the nuptials in St. Paul’s. The only exception is Justine Ingersoll, who picked a lovely and classy dress. Although, I would steal the Philip Treacy hat that April Finkbinder chose to go with it (looks almost identical to the one that Camilla Parker-Bowles chose for her nuptials to Prince Charles!).
