What Do You Like to Do After Sex?

Cuddle, sleep, shower? Everyone has their own habit after sex. What’s yours?

The classic image that comes to my mind when I think of the first few minutes after a hot sack session is something out of Mad Men: the guy sits there, smoking a cigarette with a smug, satisfied smile on his face, while the woman rests her head on his arm, lightly stroking his chest as she thinks of what to say next.

Of course, this is not what it looks like after I’ve done the deed. First of all, I’d never date a smoker, so there goes that cigare… oh wait, that’s right. I did. Damn.

OK, beyond the cigarette, the post-coital scene usually looks like a full-on cuddlefest, because I love to cuddle. Whether I’m big spoon or little spoon, I’m a cuddle monster. It’s just what I like to do.

According to a new survey in The Journal of Sex Research, I’m not the only one. In fact, most of the female participants in the study said they like to cuddle and chat after sex, while the males like to either a) roll over and go to sleep, b) have sex again, or c) eat.

Now, these aren’t the only options. A friend of mine likes to get dressed immediately post-hookup, and remember that guy Miranda dated on Sex and the City who would jump in the shower every single time?

To each their own, I guess. When you’re that relaxed and happy, you want to keep the feeling going as long as you can, and that method is different for every person. But, if you’re with me and you don’t like to snuggle? Then Houston, we have a problem.
