Being happy is better than being right

Argument

Being right is almost irresistible. In fact, hardly a day will go by without our catching a bad case of "the rights." You could be right about how wrong it is that you were fired, or about how your husband should've invested your money differently, or your daughter shouldn't have quit her job until she'd found another one. I mean, you could have "I was right!" on your tombstone, couldn't you? And where would that get you?

Let it go. The minute you feel a case of "the rights" sneaking up on you, hold it right there - and ask yourself this question: "Do I want to be right or do I want to be happy." Most of the time you can't be both. So, let it go, will you? You'll be amazed at how much lighter you feel. And how much better you look. And how much happier the people around you will be.
