Pete the Puppy

Bettys, meet Pete. Pete is a puppy who really loves his owner. But what’s a poor pooch to do when said owner heartlessly abandons him to go out on a date with someone else? He expresses his grief by singing the anthem of scorned lovers everywhere: Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” Poor Pete!

The video, entitled “Digging in the Deep” by Pawdele, was put together by YouTube artists the Pet Collective—to which we say, bravo! Hearing a pooch sing along with Adele is funny enough as it is—but when you add in a well-produced video like this one that matches the song’s official music video shot for shot? Priceless. According to the Pet Collective’s behind the scenes video, that howl is something that Pete is just naturally good at; when he gets excited, the howl comes out full force. Quite the set of puppy pipes, no?

For comparison purposes, here’s Adele’s original video. Just, y’know, in case you haven’t already gotten your fill of the tune:

This isn’t the first time the Pet Collective have taken on a radio hit, by the way; they previously released a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” starring a super cute corgi. Watch out, pop stars—we think these canine cuties could seriously give their human counterparts a run for their money!

Oh, and Adele? Congratulations on the incoming baby! May he or she inherit your astonishing talent, your gorgeous looks, and your beautiful personality!
