Uggie the Dog Dishes About Robert Pattinson + More in ‘Uggie – My Story!’
Uggie, the adorable canine star of ‘The Artist,’ wrote a book—and it hits bookstores on October 16! Check out what he had to say about stars like Robert Pattinson and more here!
Remember back in April when Uggie, the scene-stealing canine of awards season darling The Artist, announced that he had landed a book deal? Well, the time has finally come: Uggie – My Story hits bookstores on October 16!
Okay, okay, so maybe Uggie didn’t actually write the book himself—after all, he doesn’t have opposable thumbs—but the joint collaboration between author Wendy Holden and Uggie’s trainer, Omar von Muller, is said to have been “barked” by Uggie to his ghost writers. But either way, from his early days of almost ending up in the pound all the way to Hollywood stardom, the Jack Russell terrier has lived a pretty exceptional life, and we here at BettyConfidential can’t wait to read all about it. We hope retirement is treating the pooch well!
Of course, no Hollywood memoir would be complete without a little star-driven gossip. Curious what Uggie has to say about his co-stars? USA Today managed to get their hands on some excerpts from the book. Check a few of them out here:
Reese Witherspoon, Uggie’s Water for Elephants co-star: “I adored her. On or off screen, the atmosphere between us was electrically charged. Recently divorced and with two small children, Miss W was surely in need of a new leading man in her life?”
Robert Pattinson, his OTHER Water for Elephants co-star: “I never really got what the fuss was over Mr. P by the way (or RPattz, as his fans call him. On any given day there’d be hoardes of young female humans screaming for him at the studio gates, but the supposedly smoldering biped couldn’t even skateboard as well as me.”
Katy Perry: “All I can say… is, ‘She kissed a dog and she liked it.’”
Jean Dujardin: No direct quote from Uggie himself here, but Omar von Muller says that the two stars of The Artist had their last reunion at the Oscars. “Uggie knew right away who he was,” Omar recalled. “He missed Jean.” Awwww!
