You know who we haven’t heard from for a while? Uggie, the loveable Jack Russell Terrier who stole the show and our hearts in The Artist! He’s been a busy boy; when last we checked in, he had recently become Nintendo’s new spokesdog, as well has landed his very own book deal. But guess what he’s been up to since then? He made movie history!

Making the prints…
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Uggie became the first dog ever to leave his paw prints in cement outside Hollywood’s famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday. He was joined by fellow showbiz pooches Lassie and Rin Tin Tin to help celebrate his achievement as he made his grand entrance on a fire truck; there was also cake, provided by Ace of Cakes pastry chef Duff Goldman (it was in the shape of a fire hydrant, of course).

It’s Uggie Day by official proclamation!
The ceremony also marked Uggie’s official retirement. We’ll be sad to see Uggie leave the silver screen, but we’re sure his future will remain bright!

Yay, Uggie!
