1. Sometimes life just isn't fair. Case in point? Demi Moore's banging bikini bod. I mean, seriously, the women is 46 years old! The mother-of-three looked incredible as she hung out with boytoy husband Ashton Kutcher in the Bahamas recently.
Of course if we could all afford to spend more than $300,000 on head-to-toe plastic surgery (liposuction, tummy tuck, boob job, Botox...), then we might all look that good.
"I would be lying if I said I don't have moments of panic when I look into the mirror and see things creeping in that weren't there before," she said last year. "Now I stop and, instead of focusing on my flaws, I think about all that I have in my life. I have a wonderful marriage, three wonderful daughters and loving friends. When I look back in the mirror, the reflection isn't so bad, because I'm seeing the beauty of my whole being."
Oh, puh-lease. Is it too early in the day for chocolate? (Daily Mail)
2. A billboard claiming civil rights leader Martin Luther King was a Republican has stirred up a fight in Houston.
"Dr. King was bigger than a political party -- he was a humanitarian, and so to attach him exclusively to any party is to devalue his humanitarian global status," said Quanell X, who heads the New Black Panther Party in Houston. "We were insulted... by the billboard because it was a blatant lie."
The civil rights activist, who was killed in 1968, courted both Democrats and Republicans and never officially endorsed a party or candidate.
But Claver Kamau-Imani, the founder of RagingRepublicans.org, the black conservative group that sponsored the sign, told FOXNews.com that the sign was designed to get blacks to rethink their political affiliation. About 95 percent of blacks voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential elections. (Fox News)
3. Apprentice winner Randal Pinkett may be named lieutenant governor of New Jersey. The Rhodes scholar with five academic degrees has never held elected office but if chosen, would apprentice under Governor Jon Corzine.
Randal, 38, was picked by Donald Trump as the winner of the fourth season of The Apprentice and holds the record for the most project manager wins on the Apprentice. He currently runs a Newark-based consulting firm. (AP)
4. Couples who live together before getting married are more likely to get divorced than those who don't share a home before tying the knot.
According to a study in the Journal of Family Psychology revealed that living together could lead to couples getting married for the wrong reasons.
"We think that some couples who move in together without a clear commitment to marriage may wind up sliding into marriage partly because they are already cohabiting," said lead researcher Galena Rhoades of the University of Denver.
Upwards of 70 percent of U.S. couples are cohabiting these days before marrying, the researchers estimate. (Fox News)
5. Two airport workers have been caught stealing a laptop and phone from luggage at Kennedy airport in New York.
The pair were caught in a sting operation set up by Delta Airlines and the Transport Security Administration. Hidden cameras recorded Brian Burton, 27, removing the electronics from the Miami-bound suitcase in an airport screening area while Antwon Simmons, 26, a baggage handler, looked on. The pair face up to four years in prison if convicted. (NY Daily News)
6. Shocking but decidedly true. The LAPD is no longer merely contemplating the notion that Michael Jackson was murdered, TMZ reports that they are now treating his case as a bona fide homicide! The website reports that authorities have "plenty of powerful evidence" linking Dr. Conrad Murray to Michael's death. It is alleged that the doctor gave Propofol to the King of Pop. The powerful anesthesia is believed to be the primary cause of his untimely demise on June 25. While the case has not officially been presented to the D.A., the LAPD has had "multiple conversations" with the L.A. County District Attorney's office. Dr. Murray's lawyer would neither confirm nor deny if his client administered the Propofol. (TMZ)
