Tina Fey vs. Betty White: Grammy Award Cage Match!
Tina Fey and Betty White battle it out for the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album. Aaaaand fight!
Sure, sure, we’ve all heard that Adele, the Foo Fighters, and Bruno Mars scored six Grammy nominations each; we know that Kanye West is leading the Grammy race with seven nominations; but did you know that Tina Fey and Betty White, Emmy Award regulars, were both nominated for Grammys too? And in the same category, at that! Obviously there’s only one way to settle this: A cage match!
According to People, funnyladies Tina and Betty were both nominated in the Best Spoken Word Album category for narrating the audiobook versions of their memoirs: Tina narrated Bossypants, while Betty read If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t). There are other nominees in the category, of course—a dramatization of The Mark of Zorro featuring Val Kilmer, a recording of Hamlet by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and a collection of fan memories about the Beatles—but obviously the ones we’re really rooting for are Tina and Betty, mostly because we have this fantastic mental image of them duking it out beneath the bars of a massive steel cage. After all, who wouldn’t want to see Liz Lemon and Rose Nylund going at it?
Though come to think of it, we’re not really sure how they’d go about it. Would they duel with words or jokes? Or would they go for a good old-fashioned bitch fight? Inquiring minds want to know!
Tell us: How do you think Tina and Betty would fight it out, and who do you think will win?
