These Poor Animals Didn’t Deserve This
Heartbreaking photos emerge of animals covered in oil from the BP spill in the Gulf.
Huffington Post has compiled a slideshow of photos depicting the various coastline animals affected by the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Helpless seabirds, pelicans, fish, dolphins, turtles, and sharks are washing up on shore, either dead or close to it thanks to the deeply contaminated waters.
So far, the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have been the most affected, and wildlife rescuers are working feverishly to try and help save as many animals as they can.
Procter & Gamble Co. has helped by rushing over 1,000 bottles of Dawn dishwashing liquid to the Gulf, which rescuers have been using to clean off the oil-soaked wildlife. Dawn is chronicling how many animals they’ve been able to save on their Facebook page.
These three photos were taken just yesterday at East Grand Terre Island in Lousiana. Needless to say, everyone is concerned about the wellbeing of these animals, and whether or not the oil will spread to more areas. Here are some resources for how you can help. (Huffington Post)
