What was the first Adele song you ever heard? Was it “Rolling in the Deep?” It was for me, but even if it wasn’t for you, there’s no denying that “Rolling in the Deep” is by far her best-known tune. And with good reason—it’s one helluva song. It reached number one in eleven different countries, spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and sold over 6 million copies in the US, which makes it the overall best-selling single of 2011. Furthermore, it’s appeared on television shows ranging from Gossip Girl to Doctor Who, it’s been sung on pretty much every talent competition show out there, it was used in an iPhone commercial, it has undoubtedly been butchered countless times in karaoke bars—and it’s been covered more than 350,000 times on YouTube, often by people who actually know their way around a song.

Don’t believe me? Then check out this video. YouTube user zapatou cut together 71 clips from 71 different “Rolling in the Deep” covers, making a totally new version of the song as sung by its many talented fans—and it’s just a little bit awesome. Here, watch and listen for yourself:
Neat-o, right? What I love about it is the mix of different performers: Some of them are older, some of them are kids, some of them are men, some of them are women, and all of them are spectacular. Oh, and just out of curiosity, did #49 look and sound a little familiar? It should—it’s Park Jimin, the 15-year-old Korean teenager who totally killed it when she performed “Rolling in the Deep” on a talent show a while back.
Want to watch each individual cover? It might take you a while, but just in case, links to them can be found on the video’s YouTube page. All together, now!
