1. While most people know him as an Italian-American actor, De Niro is actually only one-quarter Italian. His father was half-Irish and half-Italian, and his mother’s family hailed from France, the Netherlands and Germany.

2. We’re not the only ones who love Bobby—he has been married twice and has 5 children, including twins with ex-model Toukie Smith that were conceived in 1995 by in vitro fertilization.

3. De Niro has been mentioned in songs by P.J. Harvey, Finley Quaye, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Stephen Lynch, ZZ Top, and in Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ song "Empire State of Mind". Bananarama loved him so much they dedicated their hit song "Robert De Niro’s Waiting" to him.  When De Niro heard about it, he set up a meeting between them, but the girls got so nervous while waiting for him to arrive that they got drunk and had to cancel the introduction!
