Did you miss the People’s Choice Awards? No worries—we’ve got you covered! You already know that our very own PJ Gach flew out to L.A. to join in the festivities, and we’ve got our famous Best and Worst Dressed of the Night feature coming your way soon; but in the meantime, we’ve got some delicious little tidbits for you: The 2012 People’s Choice Awards’ most memorable moments! Some of them are good; some of them are bad; and some of them are just plain weird. But that’s cool. We like weird.

1. The Madness of The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries

Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries had a little bit of trouble presenting the award for Favorite Comedy Movie—because of all the screaming. Seriously. Screaming fans. EVERYWHERE. Bizarrely, neither of them won Favorite TV Drama Actor; however, that particular honor ended up going to Nathan Fillion, which we can definitely get behind. Sorry, boys.

2. The Bridesmaids Acceptance Speech

Presumably by now, you have seen the movie Bridesmaids (and if you haven’t, shame on you! See it immediately!), so you’re familiar with the importance of the Wilson Phillips song “Hold On.” That is why the fact that their acceptance speech became a group singalong of “Hold On” is so awesome. Most fitting acceptance speech ever? We think so.

3. Demi Lovato (In General)

Demi somehow managed to cover both the good and the bad: Her performance was kind of a mess (see above), but she still won Favorite Pop Artist, beating out the likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga. It’s been a rough year for her, so hey, at least things are finally looking up!

4. Robert Pattinson’s Shaved Head

No one was expecting that.

5. Don Cheadle Hugging Betty White

Don Cheadle

No one was expecting that, either. When Don Cheadle was in the middle of presenting the Favorite TV Comedy Actress, he leapt off the stage into the front row and hugged Betty White. To be fair, we would have spontaneously hugged Betty White if we could have, too. For the curious, the award went to Lea Michele.

6. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi: Cutest Couple

Ellen and Portia

By far. Awwwww. Ellen won Favorite Daytime TV Host.

7. Nina Dobrev’s Win

Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev actually made PCA history this year: She wasn’t even on the initial ballot, but due to extremely popular demand, she became the awards’ first-ever write-in nominee. She then went on to take the prize for Favorite TV Drama Actress, which she accepted with a heartfelt thank you to her fans for making it possible. Super classy.

BONUS: The Absence of Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian

In spite of the fact that world is currently suffering from Kardashian overload, Kim still took the prize for Favorite TV Celebreality Star. However, perhaps anticipating a boatload of backlash, Kim failed to attend the show itself. Instead, she got her hair blown out. Gut reaction: Oooooof course she did!

While I agree with you that the Kartrashians are terribly overexposed, I find it curious Kim didn’t show up for THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS. After all, those who choose to follow them like lemmings are the ones who made her famous so that is almost like an F U.
