Taylor Swift Gets Crafty With Homemade Holiday Snow Globes- And You Can, Too!
Taylor Swift made her own holiday snow globes. Why not join in on the DIY fun?
Taylor Swift has been a busy bee lately, what with her big wins at the CMAs and AMAs and all; but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have time to get her holiday on! Taylor’s been getting crafty about it, too—by making homemade snow globes with her friends.
Thanks to the glory of Instagram, you can take a look at Taylor’s creations for yourselves (thanks for the heads-up, People!). The first shot she shared features all of her and her friends’ creations with the caption, “Home made snow globes with friends. The whole fleet!”
And in her second shot, she gives us a close-up of a couple featuring Christmas trees and angels, calling them “Christmas in a jar, with glitter.”
Want to get in on the fun? It’s easy to make your own snow globes at home. All you need is a couple of jars, plastic or ceramic figurines (metal ones will rust, so steer clear of those), some clear-drying epoxy or superglue, distilled water, a couple of drops of glycerin, and some glitter (of course!). First, use the epoxy to stick a figurine to the inside of a jar lid. While it’s drying, fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water and add a pinch of glitter along with a drop or two of glycerin (this stops the glitter from falling too quickly). Once the figurine is dry, screw the lid on, turn the jar upside-down, and ta-da! Instant miniature snowstorm!
