Elizabeth Taylor was a phenomenal actress and philanthropist. She was the founding chairperson of amfAR- an AIDS charity. The violet-eyed one won an Oscar for her performance as a call girl in Butterfield 8 and as an over-the-top shrewish wife in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? She started acting at age 10 in the movie,  There’s One Born Every Minute (1942). The moment she appeared on the screen, you couldn’t keep your eyes off of her.

What was it that made her so compelling? Yes, she had striking looks: fair porcelain skin, jet black hair and deep violet colored eyes. However, it was her attitude that strikes us the most. She felt that she was a gorgeous, sexy, fascinating person and we responded to the way she felt about herself.
