“Jewelry is a form of expression – it’s about empowerment, it’s about self-expression and style,” said designer Carol Brodie, at the Rarities: Fine Jewelry press preview in New York City earlier today.
Brodie who has worked as the Director of Global Communications with Harry Winston for ten years before striking it out on her own believes, that “fine jewelry is like children. No two stones are alike. If they are, then they’re synthetic.” Brodie is passionate about bringing fine jewelry to the women of the world at a reasonable price. “My customers, I call them ‘my girlfriends,’ write me all the time and tell me what they want and what they love.”

And she does listen. Her line of jewelry, Rarities, sells out in seconds when it’s shown on HSN. It’s a combination of rare stones at an affordable price that has made her so beloved by many. Her latest collection, “Rarities Cult Classics. They are she said, “a remake of classic or favorite items that my customers have asked me to re-create for them.” You can find a huge, stunning genuine citrine ring in a gold vermeil setting for $159 or an evil eye pendant done in sapphires for around $589.90. “I want this to be a forever brand. Each piece is done limited quantities, and many are done by hand.” Other items in this collection include a 31.03 ct multigem link bracelet ($879.90, hsn.com) with Brazilian citrine, amethyst and green quartz and Sri Lankin sapphires.

And these gorgeous Amazonite and Prasolite 10K drop earrings ($199.90 hsn.com).

If you’re going to pick just one item from her line or any line of jewelry, Carol recommends earrings. As she says, “earrings reflect light. So when you put on a pair of earrings and the stone is near your chin that light reflects upwards and softly illuminates your face.”
