Sexy Yet Stuctured, Lady-Like Dresses at Lela Rose: MB Fashion Week 2012
Lela Rose fans, whether you’re heading to the office or hitting the town, all eyes will be on these elegant ensembles!
If you’re looking for ladylike pieces with daring patterns, Lela Rose’s fall 2012 collection will give you some major wardrobe inspiration.
Held at Lincoln Center on February 12, the show was presented to a venue packed with the fashion obsessed. Inspired by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava’s fresh, exquisite designs, Rose’s new collection was cut and patterned in all the right places. Bold, carefully constructed prints stood out against black, grey, white, and rust hues.
And if they weren’t printed, the dresses, skirts, and blouses were beaded, sheer, or a combination of the two. Flowing frocks with sequin embellishments provided the perfect contrast to the curve-hugging pieces that started off the show.
Later, we were treated to the floral designs that have been making the runway rounds this season. But Rose managed to put her own spin on the trend with vibrant reds and silky materials that screamed luxe.
We also spotted Jenna Bush in the front row; Rose, a fellow Texan, designed her bridesmaids’ dresses back in 2008.
As a whole, the show conveyed a sweet yet sexy charm that proved difficult for any attendee to resist. The experience could have been improved only if we had the option of trading in our closets for this line. A gal can dream, can’t she?
