Scary news for Selena Gomez: She’s received a death threat so serious that the LAPD’s Threat Management Unit has been called in.

According to TMZ, a 46-year-old man named Thomas Brodnicki told his therapist that he was going to kill Selena. Brodnicki, who has a criminal history of stalking, reportedly said that not only did he travel all the way from Chicago to L.A. to meet her, but moreover, that he has had conversations with God about killing her.

Unsurprisingly, Selena has said that she is in “extreme fear,” and worries that Brodnicki will carry out his threats if no intervention occurs. Brodnicki was picked up for mental evaluation in September after allegedly threatening to “scratch people’s eyes out on the street;” he made his threats against Selena to his therapist during his evaluation.
