Rod Blagojevich

We don't get political all the time, but we were at The Celebrity Apprentice live finale last night and had our first brush with Rod Blagojevich, who appeared as a contestant this season. Not only did the former Illinois governor reveal he's honed up his computer skills since appearing on the show, Rod admitted to us that he's ready to jump back into his former profession!

"I'm not writing myself off on getting back into politics and doing what I did most of my adult life, serving people," he told us on the red carpet of the series finale party at the Trump Soho New York hotel.

That doesn't mean Rod's entertainment career is kaput. "I do a really bad Elvis impersonation, but I think it's worth seeing," he confessed.

Of course, Rod's got a little date with destiny first. "I've got a reality show called the trial starting next week," said Rod, who goes before federal prosecutors starting June 3 on corruption charges. "I want to establish my innocence and be vindicated," he added.

After that, the sky truly is the limit.

"Anything is possible, I just have to get past this trial I'm in," he shared. "If all goes well, I'm on my way."

Sure, he'll be able to get back to politics and avoid jail time for being "innocent" when there are over 1 million pages of evidence against him, and he led Illinois to the country's worst budget deficit when broken out on a per person basis.
