Keep your skin clear this fall with the help of something a wee bit unexpected: Tomatoes! From natural skin and hair care experts Yes To Carrots comes Yes To Tomatoes, a complete skin care system powered by the wondrous tomato. Intriguing, no? So when the Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Set ($27.99 at yestocarrots.com) arrived in our mailbox, of course we had to try it out!
Yes To Tomatoes is a three-part system: First, wash and exfoliate your skin with the Daily Pore Scrub ($9.99 at yestocarrots.com); then hit your face with the Deep Cleansing Facial Pads ($7.99 at yestocarrots.com) to swipe away anything the Daily Pore Scrub missed; and finally, spot treat zits with the Clear Skin Spot Stick ($9.99 at yestocarrots.com). Since I’ve got somewhat problematic skin, I couldn’t wait to get started with the system.
How does it work? Well, each of the products contains (of course) tomatoes, which are rich in the antioxidant Lycopene. Lycopene both protects your skin from environmental factors that can clog pores, as well as keeps inflammation down and encourages a balanced, clear complexion. The products also all sport salicylic acid, which is well-known for its pore-clearing abilities. Finally, each product has a unique ingredient all its own: The Daily Pore Scrub uses mango seeds to exfoliate the skin’s surface, the Deep Cleansing Facial Pads counteract face oil with witch hazel, and the Spot Stick relies on tea tree oil to dry out and heal blemishes.

The Daily Pore Scrub does a great job scrubbing away impurities without irritating your skin. I was initially a little doubtful about the Deep Cleansing Facial Pads—I haven’t used anything like these since my awkward teenage tears—but I was surprised to see how much gunk the pad picked up, even after I had given my face a thorough scrubbing. And I was thrilled to know that it was no longer ON my face! Finishing up with the Spot Stick zapped zits directly and stopped them in their tracks, and its handy roller ball made it less messy than a lot of other topical zit treatments.
I’ve been using Yes To Tomatoes for about two weeks now, and my skin is clear and oil-free. I did find that the Deep Cleansing Facial Pads were best used in moderation, as they had a tendency to dry my skin out a little too much for my liking; but overall, Yes To Tomatoes is much gentler than the stuff I normally use, so my face feels significantly less irritated—something I’m especially grateful for as the cold weather starts to kick in! You can find the Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Set at Targets and Walmarts everywhere, or you can order it online at yestocarrots.com.
It’s important to eat your veggies—but don’t forget that your face needs them, too!
(Okay, yes, tomatoes are fruits. But work with me, here.)
