Relax, Everyone- Adele Doesn’t Have Throat Cancer
Adele IS getting her vocal chords operated on– but she DOESN’T have throat cancer. Thank goodness!
I know, I know; we were all really depressed when Adele cancelled her 10-city US tour due to illness back at the beginning of October. Sweetheart that she is, she felt bad about letting her fans down, but we all wished her a speedy recovery. Alas, that apparently wasn’t in the cards, as she’s now undergoing surgery on her vocal chords—but we have good news! Contrary to popular belief, she doesn’t have throat cancer! Hoorah!
According to People, Adele’s rep issued a statement on Monday in response to the rumors circulating around Twitter that the singer has throat cancer: “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.” Phew!
She has, however, had to cancel a bunch of concert dates in the UK in addition to the previously canceled North American dates. Her surgery is due to happen any day now, and her doctors have ordered her to take some time out to rest before performing again. Happily, though, her website states that a full recovery is expected. Get well soon, Adele!
