Red Flags To Watch Out For In Men’s Online Dating Profiles
Picking out these red flags in a guy’s online profile can save you from wasting time with the wrong person.
The other day I went out to pick up a sandwich for lunch at this cute cafe by my office. I walked in and discovered a super hot man standing in front of me in line. He was wearing Marquette sweatpants and a Patagonia, and though casual, looked cute. He turned around and looked at me and smiled before turning back to order.
Then, as he waited for his change, I saw his hand slowly reach around his back and scratch his butt. We’re not talking a subtle “adjust your pants” scratch. It was a no-holds-barred, 5-finger war in his crack. There was no way an itch was going to survive that attack. I watched in horror as my new boyfriend’s hand went spelunking. That hand got a room for the night down there.
However, despite the initial surprise, I guess it’s not that shocking. In fact, most guys would pick, scratch or adjust on a stage in front of 500 eligible women if the need presented itself. They see the task at hand (sometimes literally) and they’re dead set on accomplishing it. It’s all about efficiency.
Look around ladies, guys are picking and scratching everywhere.
Which made me start thinking about how guys present themselves when they want to impress a girl. Because obviously we all try to put our best foot forward. And yet, those tiny idiosyncrasies, always shine through.
Take the profile photo for example. This is the cover letter for any man’s online dating resume, and yet some guys think it’s appropriate to skip the computer and write it in crayon. Like the man who posts 6 photos he took of himself flexing in the bathroom mirror. This guy doesn’t have much going on anywhere else, so he just put all his cards on the table.
Or the urban hippie, who never misses an opportunity to flash a peace sign. This guy just wants us all to drink Red Bull, crank up the Black Eyed Peas and purse our lips for the camera. Cause he’s fly y’all.
Look out for the down-to-business man, next…
