Russell Armstrong was found dead Monday night in his home on Mulholland Drive. According to TMZ, a roommate came home, found him and then called 911. LA Firefighters arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead of an apparent suicide at 8:16 PM.

Taylor Armstrong and her husband, Russell had been estranged for a few months. The TV show, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, appeared to highlight their somewhat contentious marriage. In July, Taylor had filed for divorce citing physical and emotional abuse. Russell aged 47, and Taylor, aged 40, have a young daughter named Kennedy.

“Taylor is shocked, devastated and beside herself. Her friends are flying from all over to be with her right now. Her daughter is safe and with her,” a source close to Taylor told HollywoodLife.com.

Sources told TMZ that Russell had hung himself and a note was not found at the scene.
