Pics! Check Out ‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard’s Flashy Engagement Ring
‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard’s final rose went to Jef Holm. Check out the sparkler Jef popped the question with!
Well, the eight millionth eighth season of The Bachelorette has finally drawn to a close, and Emily Maynard has chosen her lucky guy: Utah-based entrepreneur Jef Holm. And after Emily presented him with the final rose, he was then faced with the task of presenting her with an engagement ring. But exactly what kind of ring does one give a woman with a $350,000 wardrobe? This one, it turns out:
This ring is one of six that celebrity jeweler Neil Lane designed specifically for Emily. According to People, Neil met with Emily a number of months ago to get a sense of both her style and personality. Then he went to work, eventually landing in Curacao for The Bachelorette finale with six options for the groom-to-be to choose from.
Did Neil have a favorite? Yep—and luckily, it was the one that Jef eventually chose. “I designed six rings with Emily in mind but you know what?” Neil told People, “I really concentrated on this one particular ring and I hoped Jef would see it too.”
The ring in question is a 3.5-carat emerald-cut beauty surrounded by 87 smaller round-cut diamonds. Said Neil, “As soon as Jef saw the ring, he knew it was the right one. He really understood her style. She’s very sophisticated, very beautiful, elegant and classic and the emerald-cut diamond has those elements.” He noted that Emily’s grace and style reminds him of the high society of the 1920s (think Downton Abbey in America), a time during which emerald-cut stones were immensely popular.
According to Neil, Jef put a lot of energy into the decision and “was very sincere and excited during the whole process.” He very briefly considered a ring with a setting of pink gold because he knew that Emily likes pink; but after some deliberation, he settled on the emerald-cut ring. Neil added, “The guy was smitten and really in love. He was very sweet about the whole thing. I felt that he was very genuine and was really looking forward to this journey with Emily. I’m so happy for them!”
Part of me can’t help but want to open up the betting pool as to whether or not this relationship will last—reality TV relationships so rarely do—but in the meantime, I do believe some congratulations are in order. So congrats, you two! Here’s wishing you the best once the cameras stop rolling!
