Every woman faces this dilemma-how to look good at work and on a date that same night. Our Style Editor, PJ Gach, is a member of dressbarn’s Style Squad and she recently shared her quick change expertise with the group.
Here are 6 other quick fashion tips on how to transition your look from a day in the office to a night out on the town!
1. Accessories are the key!
Look for a dress that will easily transition from the office to a night out with just a couple of changes of accessories.
2. Get fit!
When you have a great dress that fits you well, all you have to do for a night out is (1) change your day bracelet to something a little more glittery and (2) change shoes. Wear a low heeled shoe for day, switch to a high heel for night.
3. Pick the right shade.
Color is very important. Take a black and white dress like in the video, or an office friendly hue, add a pop of color near your face (for example, a turquoise sweater). The added hues will help to brighten up your face.
4. Cardis are your friend.
Adding a sweater to a sleeveless dress creates a pulled-together office look. For night, pack the sweater away and show off your arms.
5. Pick the right transitional piece.
Your core item, like a sheath dress, can easily go from day to night by changing your accessories. By adding a big statement necklace, long dangling earrings or a clutch bag to the outfit after the office closes, can turn that career dress into a sexy date look in seconds.
6. Check your height.
High heels don’t need to be 5-inches tall! Two-inch heels are great for a work presentation, and a 3-inch heel is just enough of a step up for night and weekend wear.
