Is this how you can tell a celeb is desperate to stay in the limelight? Televise your wedding and hope for a ratings bonanza? Nick Lachey and long time (possibly suffering) gal pal Vanessa Minnillo, are going to have a very professionally recorded wedding. The two have been dating since 2006.

According to People, the couple will have a special on TLC. Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding (gag me now) will contain footage of their wedding shower, Vanessa’s search for a dress and the ceremony. Of course the actual date for the special and wedding is a closely guarded secret.

The couple issued the following statement about the show: "We're lucky to have such passionate and loving fans, and we thought partnering with TLC on this special would be the best way to share the exciting journey we're on with all the people that support us and our relationship."

If they’re thinking that they’ll get the same amount of viewers as Prince William and Kate Middleton, they may want to rethink that. Nick’s last professional gig was back in December, when he was the host of NBC’s The Sing-Off. As for Vanessa, she had a guest spot on 30 Rock and was the co-host of ABC’s Wipeout. Both gigs were last winter.

Who knows, maybe it will kick start a new career for the duo? They could become wedding planners. Scratch that, Tori and Dean have that job locked down.
