Nostalgia Alert! We LOVE Wildfox’s Spring 2013 ‘Clueless’-Inspired Look Book
Wildfox’s Spring/Summer 2013 look book is a blast from the past, ‘Clueless’-style!
We might be a little late to the party on this one, but since we here at BettyConfidential are proud members of the Clueless generation, we can’t NOT share this one with you: Bettys, meet L.A. label Wildfox’s Spring/Summer 2013 look book, We’re the Kids in America. It is, you might notice, entirely inspired by Cher Horowitz, Dionne Davenport, and Tai Frasier as depicted by Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and Brittany Murphy in the 1995 film written and directed by Amy Heckerling. Love!
Says Wildfox mastermind Kimberley Gordon about the collection, “I have always wanted to express something creatively that is more than just fashion, it’s a feeling, a lifestyle, it’s about being a girl. It’s capturing a moment. I think I felt it first when I was about 12 around when Clueless came out and I was so in love with the characters, I didn’t just love the clothes, I loved the girls who wore the clothes—which made me want to wear them more.”
The Clueless Collection strives to breathe new life into Amy Heckerling’s bold take on the modern girl—the girl who wants it all, and who wants to look great getting it. Tees that start conversations, sweaters you can wear all day two days in a row (and sleep wearing in between), sunflower prints, watermelon slices on soft cotton, and bright, girl colors with names like “Mall” and “Chill Pill”… We’re getting nostalgic just thinking about it!
Here’s a little side-by-side comparison for you:
