No, Jennifer Lawrence Is NOT Feuding With Kristen Stewart, Thank You Very Much
You know that “feud” that Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart are allegedly in? It’s not true. At all. Jennifer sets the record straight here!
With the Twilight Saga coming to a close and The Hunger Games set to be the Next Big Thing, perhaps it’s unsurprising that not too long ago, rumors started flying that the vampires and the tributes weren’t getting along so well. In fact, if we’re to believe OK! Magazine, it’s flat-out war between stars Kristen “Bella Swan” Stewart and Jennifer “Katniss Everdeen” Lawrence, with the insults flying fast and furious. According to “sources,” Jennifer has called Kristen “snooty” while trash-talking her; a “friend” even explained, “It’s like part of Jennifer really wants to overthrow Kristen as Hollywood’s young darling.” Meanwhile, Kristen allegedly attacked Jennifer’s looks, calling her “plain.” (Really? “Plain?” That’s the worst you could do?)
But hey, guess what? Not a word of it is true. This, too, is perhaps unsurprising, especially given that OK! Magazine isn’t exactly the pinnacle of journalistic integrity. Jennifer Lawrence recently sat down with Access Hollywood to set the record straight.
At first, Jennifer said, she actually found the rumors hilarious. “Pals?” “Sources?” Her publicist first brought the article to her, and “When I was reading it,” she said, “I was cracking up.” But then she had second thoughts: “Then I was like, ‘oh my god. If [Kristen] reads this, she’s going to think—what if she thinks it’s true?’ I just shot her an email and was like, ‘Hey, can’t wait to see more as this feud unfolds!’” Happily, Kristen wrote back, letting Jennifer know that everything was A-OK. Said Jennifer, “She was like, ‘It’s fine. Welcome to the world where everything you say gets turned into [something it’s not]. So, she understood.” Good for them for handling it so well; given that both actresses are only 21, they’ve shown remarkable maturity by reaching out to each other to clear the air.
Now, I don’t know about you, Bettys, but the big question I usually have when these sorts of “reports” emerge is this: Who the heck are these “friends” who would reveal this sort of stuff to notorious gossip mags? The best I can figure is that either a) they aren’t actually friends of the star in question, but rather acquaintances who want to capitalize on having briefly met said star, or else simply deluded individuals who believe that they’re friends, even if they’re not; or b) they don’t actually exist and have been totally made up by the mags. Either way, though, it’s just weird, right? It’s weird!
On a lighter note, however, Jennifer did note that in the great battle between the Twilight guys and the Hunger Games guys, she’s sticking with her own. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are both pretty attractive… “But I have to go with mine,” she said of Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. “They’re my boys!”
