The first show at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week is Nichola K. They’re kicking it all off on Thursday, February 10 at 9 am. Ah, there’s nothing like pressure is it to start off your day!
Nicholas Kunz and her brother, Christopher, once again look to the outdoors for inspiration for their mens and women’s fall looks. As Nicholas states, “For our Fall collection, I was inspired by the woods and rustic living; the survival instinct and going back to primitive ways. The fall colors of the forest are reflected in the palette and overall aesthetic and I used a lot of texture and incorporated Navajo inspired prints. Think log homes, gypsies, stone fireplaces, owls, camping and migration.”
They touched on movies like The Wilderness Family, A River Runs Through It, Legends of the Fall and Into the Wild as cinematic touchstones for their looks.

Their fall palette mimics a fall forest with colors like rust orange, hunter green, evergreen, moss green, birch, snowy white, harvest, bark and mud brown.

For the first time ever, they’ve collaborated with the Vintage Shoe Company to create limited edition boots for men and women. The models walking the runway will be showing them off with their ensembles.
