10 feel-good beauty products that work
- Lois Joy Johnson
I’m sucked back into the whole “natural” beauty idea from time to time, simply because the inner/ outer thing has so much appeal in theory and the idea of organic sounds smart. I’ve tried wearing my hair in its curly state (ick) followed the cleansing/diet advice of L.A. health gurus (ick!) and even started meditating and doing yoga – which I admit to sticking with so far. A few years ago I was working with supermodel Carol Alt who showed up at the studio with containers of what looked like green glop, which she swigged down from time to time. She told me it was part of her raw diet regimen and that it had completely changed her looks, her body, her health and her attitude. Carol advised me to get a Jack La Lanne Power Juicer ASAP which I did put off until reading her incredible books Eating In The Raw ($10.88 paperback, amazon.com) and The Raw 50 ( $11.56 paperback, amazon.com) Those books have changed my eating habits forever. Carol recently started a raw skincare line sold on HSN that is almost as irresistible as her blueberry banana smoothie recipe.
Here are two of hers and some other natural beauty products I’m personally wild about:
