Born in Israel, Portman is the only child of a fertility specialist dad and artist mom. When Portman was a three, her family relocated to D.C. and then Long Island, New York—which the actress still considers home. She began modeling at age 11.

Mila:

Mila is also an imported beauty, born in Kiev, Ukraine (back then it was part of the USSR). Her fam—mechanical engineering dad, physics teaching mom, and big brother Michael—moved to California when Mila was 7, and she started acting in commercials two years later. Her parents said as long as she kept up her grades, they were cool with her working.
