Here’s how the ‘Black Swan’ actresses match up against each other.

Black Swan

In Darren Aronofsky’s new psychological thriller, The Black Swan, Natalie Portman, 29, and Mila Kunis, 27, play prima ballerinas duking it for the lead in Swan Lake. BettyConfidential has obtained this exclusive clip from the film. Watch now!

In real life the two are gal pals (and both are Jewish and stand 5’3”), but Betty wondered which one has the edge.

Childhood

Natalie:

Natalie Portman

Born in Israel, Portman is the only child of a fertility specialist dad and artist mom. When Portman was a three, her family relocated to D.C. and then Long Island, New York—which the actress still considers home. She began modeling at age 11.

Mila:

Mila Kunis

Mila is also an imported beauty, born in Kiev, Ukraine (back then it was part of the USSR). Her fam—mechanical engineering dad, physics teaching mom, and big brother Michael—moved to California when Mila was 7, and she started acting in commercials two years later. Her parents said as long as she kept up her grades, they were cool with her working.

How did the actresses get their big breaks? Up next…

Mila seems fun while Natalie seems a hair uptight.

    Both seem focused and grounded.

I’m dying to see this movie, I think they’re both great.

Wow – they are BOTH great role models. I knew Natalie Portman went to Harvard, but I love the fact that she prefers to have a college education than be a movie start – wish there were more young women like here in Hollywood.

I saw a screening of ‘Black Swan’ last night — it is AMAZING! Natalie Portman’s performance is genius. I foresee a little gold statue!

  6. dragoneye says:

Natalie was perceived as precocious, not”precautious.” Looking for a good proofreader, btw?
SO looking forward to seeing this, have been since I first heard of the project. Aronsky’s a GREAT director.
As a former ballet dancer, I also look forward to seeing both Natalie and Mila dance. I know Natalie has a ballet background, but does Mila?
