More Celebrity Engagement Rings: Halle Berry’s Emerald Sparkler
The celeb engagement rings just keep coming! Here’s a look at the beautiful emerald ring Olivier Martinez gave to Halle Berry.
Word on the street yesterday was that Halle Berry, who finally confirmed that she and beau Olivier Martinez had gotten engaged back in January, was sporting one heck of an engagement ring—and that instead of the standard diamond, it was a gorgeous green emerald. And now, lucky us, we get to take a look at it! Here, feast your eyes on this little beauty:
According to People, Olivier put a ton of thought into the design of the ring. Made by the actor’s Paris neighbor, jeweler Robert Mazlo, the ring “is a one-of-a-kind piece and cannot be replaced” that actually tells the couples’ story. Awww! The emerald set in the center of the ring is a whopping four carats, and it came from a mine in Muzo, Colombia that is now closed down. “The color is perfect,” Mazlo’s house told People. “The balance between the blue and the yellow in the green in that stone is perfect.”
The ring also features two diamonds set in a textured, gold setting, which was reportedly forged according to an ancient Phoenician tradition. Though many engagement rings carry an inscription detailing the couples’ love, this one does not. Instead, a series of codes and symbols been etched onto its surface—and they can only been seen by the person wearing it. It’s mysterious, it’s romantic… you chose well, Olivier!
