Katy Perry

Kittens, Mean Betty simply must pause today and thank Katy Perry, the celebrity gift that keeps on giving. Whenever Mean Betty thinks that the diminutive pop star has done something so colossally stupid that nothing can surpass it, she does! Talent like that doesn’t just happen, sweethearts. It is achieved after years of working at such challenging tasks as labeling oneself a Christian while appearing nude on the cover of Rolling Stone.

Now, though, Ms. Perry has once again topped herself by calling the people who work for her record label “idiots.” What could earn mere humans such scorn from our pop goddess? Why, they didn’t want to release a single called “Peacock,” because it might remind listeners of a man’s naughty bits.

While Mean Betty does think this is being a little too careful, it is the job, darlings, of record-company executives to raise all possible objections—and then to abide by the decision of the “artist” because the “artist” is after all the company’s cash cow most important voice.

But Ms. Perry is apparently unaware of how to conduct an adult professional conversation. “I was like, ‘You guys are idiots.’” Such a graceful, perceptive remark! But we have come to expect no less from our Katy.

She says what she thinks (idiots is a good word for people who think a bird = balls) and who cares if she calls G-d dude, at least she believes he exists. I don't agree with her taste in men but i enjoy her as an entertainer, she is fun.

I wish more people would use the common sense that the good Lord (aka Dude) gave them.

Yeah, not the best thing to say to your employer but she has a bit of a point. When I read that sentence it took me a minute to realize what they meant by peaCOCK. I guess maybe that's me for using the anatomical names.

Katy Perry's lyrics are not subtle - I would imagine when you hear the lyrics in context of the rest of the song - there's probably no mistaking it. But why is the term "Peacock" or references to male naughty bits worse than Lady Gaga singing about wanting to "take a ride on your disco stick" or 50 cent singing about going to the candy shop and letting girls lick his lollipop. None of these lyrics are subtle and all obvious references to men's naughty bits. Heck, rappers sing about raping women and that's apparently okay. Why the sudden conservatism from the record company? Just what were the other lyrics to this song???

From Katy Perry's website...

Some of her very subtle lyrics...LOL

Love you, Mean Betty!

Your peacock, cock
Your peacock, cock, cock
Your peacock

Verse 2
Skip the talk, heard it all, time to walk the walk
Brake me off, if you bad, show me how's the boss
Need some goose, if you lose, come on take a shot

Pre-Chorus
I want the jaw droppin, eye popin, head turnin, body shockin
(Uh, uh, oh, Uh, uh, uh, oh)
I want my heart throbbin, ground shakin, show stoppin, amazin
(Uh, uh, oh, Uh, uh, uh, oh)

Chorus
Are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?
Don't be a chicken boy, stop acting like a beeotch
I'ma peace out if you don't give me the pay off
Come on baby let me see
What you're hiding underneath
Are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?
What you're waiting for, it's time for you to show it off
Don't be a shy kinda guy I'll bet it's beautiful
Come on baby let me see
Whatchu hidin' underneath

I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock
Your peacock, cock
Your peacock, cock, cock
Your peacock
I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock
Your peacock, cock
Your peacock, cock, cock
Your peacock

Oh my good no exaggeration
Noy all this time was worth the waiting
I just shared a tear
I'm so unprepared
You've got the finest architecture
And on the rainbow looking treasure
Such a sight to see
And it's all for me

what a vapid tool of the "music" industry. 7th graders must have helped he write that "song".
