I’m torn! On one hand, I loved all the fascination with fascinators that Kate -- er, Catherine Middleton has bestowed upon us ... I say, bring back hats and feathery hair accessories! And I love Serena Williams for donning one at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala. But I’m not so sure she totally pulled it off...  hmmm. What say you? It's overdone. The British gals never stopped doing hats and they understand that you pair something understated with a Philip Treacy fascinator. If you go all out in the dress and the hat, you end up being overpowered by your clothes and that's never a good thing. Separately though I love both the hat/fascinator and the gown. And I agree with the author - bring back the hats. Yes, they are a bit out there and people are not used to them - but they're also fun!

I think it looks silly. The dress and the hat are just too much together. Especially at night. Hats are a daytime thing.
