I can’t think of many things better than pairing great skin care with a remarkable organization. Recently L’OCCITANE partnered with ORBIS for their new line of fundraising soaps, aptly named, Get on Board for Sight Limited Edition Soaps ($6 each at L'Occitane stores). The affordable price tag isn’t the only perk, as each bar is enriched with Shea butter to nourish and soften the skin. The soaps will also be available in a Pink (scented with notes of floral, grape and white rose) and Blue (scented with verbena, lemon and grapefruit) soap. On top of all that, 100 percent of the proceeds (yes,100 percent!) goes towards ORBIS, a Non-Government Organization. For the past 11 years L’OCCITANE has been paired with the dynamic group on their quest to end preventable blindness. Not many of us know that roughly 280 million people in the world are visually impaired and of that large group, 80 percent of blindness is preventable.

We love good skincare almost as much as we love a great cause so the opportunity for both is just amazing! The limited line of soaps will launch on October 12th and will be sold in L’OCCITANE stores. Each bar is modeled after the ORBIS plane, also known as the Flying Hospital. The huge aircraft helps bring eye care services to countries all over the globe. Adorned with a set of eyeglasses, the L’OCCITANE fundraising soaps portray the mission of the ORBIS organization. The proceeds will also help the group launch a large project in Burkina Faso, Africa. L’OCCITANE has a history of relief efforts in this country as they have worked with women’s cooperatives since the 1980s to help source Shea Butter.
Who knew social awareness and skincare went so well together?
