It’s just one surprise after another these days when it comes to Lindsay Lohan, isn’t it? Not only did she actually make it to court for her probation hearing after Tuesday’s travel debacle, but perhaps more importantly, she passed it with flying colors. Who knew LiLo had it in her?
According to E! Online, Judge Stephanie Sautner had pretty much nothing but praise for the troubled starlet. Indeed, she began the hearing by saying, “Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work.” Sautner commended Lindsay for not only having done her community service hours, but moreover, for having them done early: “You did the 12 days, and you completed it early,” the judge said. LiLo also completed more than her required number of therapy sessions; though she was only expected to attend four, she completed five. Furthermore, she’s on time with the payments for her legal bill; she owes $3,900 total, of which she’s so far paid $100. That may not seem like much, but as she’s on a $100-a-month payment plan, she’s right on track with it. Lindsay will have to get another 12 days of community service and another four therapy sessions under her belt before next month’s progress report on January 17, but since she’s already done it once, hopefully she’ll be able to do it again.

There was only one trouble spot, which (predictably) had to do with her little weekend jaunt to Hawaii. “There seems to be some confusion on whether or not you were permitted to take vacation outside the state,” Sautner noted; however, the judge then added that LiLo’s probation officer “thought your sister’s birthday was a holiday and said you could go to Hawaii. I don’t have a problem with that.” So it appears that all was in order for the trip. Sautner even went on to say that Lindsay could travel out of state for any purpose each month as long as she has already completed her dozen days of service: “Any month you’ve completed 12 days early, you can travel. For pleasure, for any purpose… to go to a spa, whatever she wants to do. Whatever anyone else is allowed to do.”
And hey, if Lindsay decides she wants to do MORE days of community service each month, Sautner believes that “we can end this in February, possibly.”
I’ll say it for real now: Lindsay, keep up the good work. And once you’ve finished it, please please PLEASE keep your nose clean. Life is much more enjoyable when you do. Wouldn’t you agree?
