For a long time, Kid Rock has kept his philanthropic side on the DL. Through the years, when he was on tour, he quietly found people who needed help and gave it. This year, he’s gone public in a very big way. Kid Rock has teamed up with Detroit based businesses and famous people: Compuware Corporation, The Suburban Collection, Quicken Loans Inc., Fathead, The Detroit Pistons, Danialle and Peter Karmanos, Jr., Holly and Tom Gores, Catherine and Nathan Forbes, Gretchen and Ethan Davidson. Through the Kid Rock Foundation, they’ll be donating monies to local charities and people on each stop of his Underplay Club tour.

The tour kicks off November 10 at the Center Stage in Atlanta and ends on December 9 at the Fantasy Springs Special Events Center – Indio, CA. What else is different about this tour? Instead of huge venues, Kid Rock has opted to play smaller, intimate clubs and theaters.

The tour coincides with the release of his latest single, I Care. The tune features Martina McBride and T.I. Kid Rock states, “The song says ‘the least that I can do is Care’ – and I want to put my money where my mouth is. Everyone knows that Detroit is hurting. But I want to show that even though we don’t have a lot on our own plate, it doesn’t mean the people of my hometown don’t have compassion to share with others all over the country. At the end of the day we’re all Detroit, we’re one country, one family.”

Ty Stone will be opening for Kid Rock at all the shows. He’ll be backed up by the Twisted Brown Tucker Band. Want to go? Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 15th at 10 am. You can get them online at his site.
