Kate Middleton’s North American Tour de Hair
If you don’t live under a rock you know that Princess Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and hair goddess extraordinaire, set her dainty British foot on American soil this week. (Squeal!)
Kate Middleton’s style and beauty captivated America as she toured Canada and the Los Angeles area with that guy she married in April (what’s his name again?). We at Lock & Mane, much like the rest of the world, have had a huge hair crush on Kate since the moment her engagement to Prince William was announced. And her hair perfection on this North American tour has known no bounds. The tour included a polo match, a red carpet event and numerous state ceremonies and the Duchess consistently outshone everyone else in attendance.
Here are our picks for Kate’s best hair looks during her stateside tour.
Kate stunned in an Alexander McQueen gown and her signature loose, flowing locks at the BAFTA Brits to Watch Gala in Los Angeles. This ‘do is all about the shine. Word on the street is that the Duchess attributes her super sleek and shiny mane to frequent deep conditioning treatments!
The Princess attended the Mission Serve ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Job Fair in California this weekend donning a half up style reminiscent of her wedding ‘do but with a small classic bun fastening the half-up portion. We love how the mini chignon brings a subtle elegance to the look while the loose portion keeps it from being too stuffy.
Stop the presses! Kate sported a sophisticated updo and a stunning purple Issa dress at the National Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa. This may very well be the first time we’ve seen her wearing an updo. But really, with hair like that we can understand her penchant for long, flowing styles—it would be a shame to hide it too often in overly structured pinned-up ‘dos.
