Kate Middleton’s 10 Best Looks of The Year
As part of National Princess Week, let’s celebrate Kate Middleton’s year of one fabulous outfit after another!
As soon as we saw Kate Middleton standing next to her fiancé, Prince William, we all fell in love with her charm and style. Whatever she wore, sold out immediately. Perhaps that’s one of the things we like and admire Kate, her ability to mix couture with fast fashion. Some of her favorite stores are the budget friendly Wearhouse and Reiss. Unlike some other celebs (we’re talking to you Kelly O) Kate’s not afraid to wear something more than once. Kate’s proved that it’s really not who you wear, but how you wear it.
1. Engagement announcement
When Prince William and Kate announced their engagement to the world on November 16, 2010, we here in the US got our first real look at Kate. Her blue Issa dress sold out in seconds. The rest of prayed for it to be re-stocked or waited for a knock-off to show up.
2. The Royal Wedding
Who didn’t get up in the wee hours to watch the couple say, “I do” on April 29, 2011. Kate wore a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress that spawned a thousand copies. It was made with ivory and white gazar and combined English Cluny and French Chantilly lace. The scrumptious creation looks a bit like Grace Kelly’s regal wedding gown,You can’t see it here, but Kate’s dress had a nine foot train.
3. 10th Annual Return to Kids (ARK) dinner in London
For their first official event after their wedding, Prince William and Kate attended the 10th Annual Return to Kids (ARK) dinner in London on June 9, 2011. Kate wore a blush pink gown from British designer Jenny Packham. Even though the dress cost $3515, once seen on Kate, it sold out immediately!
3. Kate and William Visit Canada
For the couple’s first official trip, they visited Canada then hopped over to California. On July 1–Canada Day, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a charming red fascinator with-red maple leaves specially made by Sylvia Fletcher of Lock and Company. She carried an Anya Hindmarch Fan clutch, Albini Square Cut Court shoe in red and the same Reiss Nannette zip frill dress in cream that Kate wore in her official engagement photo.
4. Kate has a day off while visiting Canada
Kate looks stylish when she dress up, and she’s one princess who looks fab in jeans. Here she is on her way to Yellowknife in Canada relaxing in J Brand (her fave brand) jeans, Sebago boat shoes and a tucked in button down shirt. We’d like to look this chic in denim.
5. Prince William and Kate at the BAFTA dinner in LA
Before flying back to the UK, the royal newlyweds spent the weekend in California. Prince William played polo while Kate cheered him on. The tour toured schools and more. At the BAFTAS: Brits to Watchdinner, Kate wore an Alexander McQueen gown paired with Jimmy Choos while she and her husband met JLo, Blake Lively and more of the Hollywood elite for a star-studded evening.
