Julie Benz Got Married on Cinco de Mayo!
Former ‘Dexter’ star Julie Benz and her fiancé, Rich Orosco, tied the knot on Saturday. Congratulations!
Looks like another celeb just walked down the aisle! On Saturday, Dexter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Julie Benz tied the knot with Rich Orosco, her marketing executive boyfriend of four years. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Julie and Rich have been engaged since June of last year—a proposal which included an $80,000, 3-carat Kwiat engagement ring (yowza!). According to People, they wed at 6pm on May 5 at the historic John Sowden house in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz neighborhood. But it was no ordinary wedding: In honor of Cinco de Mayo and Rich’s Mexican heritage, they threw a Mexican-themed bash.
For those of you unfamiliar with the John Sowden house, it’s a pretty distinctive locale; known as the Jaws House, it looks not unlike the toothsome mouth of a great white shark:
It’s also been described as looking somewhat like a Mayan temple, but I kind of like the shark attack idea better. It was built by Lloyd Wright, legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s eldest son.
Rich also threw a surprise “pop-up Mexican fiesta” for Julie to celebrate engagement last June, arranging for 60 of their closest friends and family to meet at their home—along with a Mariachi band, no less. “I can’t believe that none of my friends leaked the surprise,” Julie told Us Weekly after the event. “It was like a Navy Seal operation.”
Julie has been married once before; she walked down the aisle with voice actor John Kassir in 1998. Kassir, by the way, is perhaps best known for his work as the voice of the Crypt Keeper, the ghost host of the Tales from the Crypt franchise. They divorced in 2007.
We wish the very best to the happy newlyweds!
