Julia Roberts

Yesterday, Julia Roberts and the cast of Eat Pray Love (in theaters August 13) held a press conference to talk about the upcoming flick. Amidst questions about how much weight she gained for the film and if she's been eating Italian food since, Roberts was asked what it was like to work with Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz's new hubby.

"It was like deciding to get a puppy," the Oscar winner said. "You have everything in your house worked out, and then the puppy comes in, and you're like, I'm way too tired to have a puppy."

Huh? The last thing on earth we would compare Javier Bardem with is a puppy. He is not a cute, cuddly, baby-voice-inducing person. Especially not after his role in No Country For Old Men.

But, Roberts went on to clarify: "[Javier] came in with all this gusto and enthusiasm and he wanted to read the scenes and go over some stuff. And then you realize no, this is getting good, let's have lunch, let's go over scenes, let's look over the stuff! And his excitement was so contagious!"

OK, that makes much more sense. Now we can see why you made that comparison, Julia.
