Joshua Jackson’s $45,000 Necklace: An Engagement Gift for Diane Kruger?
At Prince Albert and Bill Clinton’s Nights in Monaco benefit on Wednesday, Joshua Jackson snagged a $45,000 necklace for Diane Kruger. Is it an engagement gift? Well…
Ah, the glamorous world of chi-chi benefit events! On Wednesday night, Prince Albert of Monaco and former President Bill Clinton raised more than $750,000 for each of their foundations—with a little help from the Hollywood elite.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is a charity geared towards environmental projects, while the William J. Clinton Foundation focuses on “strengthening the capacity of people throughout the world to meet the challenges of global independence.” At the benefit—the first-ever “Nights in Monaco” dinner held in Monte Carlo—the two announced that their foundations will henceforth be working together on global issues involving the environment, health, and much more.
An excellent cause, no? Of course there was an auction as part of the event—at which Joshua Jackson snagged a beautiful necklace for a whopping $45,000. Naturally, he gifted the necklace to his longtime girlfriend, Diane Kruger. But—gasp!—what’s this? Joshua was reportedly overheard saying that it was an engagement present for her? Can it really be true? Survey says…
…Nope. According to People, sources close to the couple say that any engagement buzz surrounding them simply isn’t true.
It is a gorgeous necklace, though; designed by Carla Amorim, the “Boreal” necklace consists of 11.7 carats of white diamonds set in 18k rose gold. A lovely match for the cream-colored Prabal dress Diane was wearing, no? Take a look:
The event was hosted by Prince Albert, along with his sister, Princess Caroline, and his cousin, Baroness Elizabeth-Anne de Massy. The menu included farm-raised veal, fish, zucchini caviar, and truffled vinaigrette from Alain Ducasse, l’Hotel de Paris’ master chef. Sounds like a marvelous time was had by all!
