President Barack Obama and Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart is known for his comedy, but there weren’t too many laughs on his show last night. Stewart hosted President Barack Obama on The Daily Show last night, and managed to get some pretty candid answers out of the leader of the free world.

Stewart called Obama’s efforts on health care reform “timid,” prompting a tough response from the President.

“I have a profound disagreement with you,” Obama said, citing a specific case in which the reforms made a big difference for a cancer patient in New Hampshire.

The President held his ground, but Stewart didn’t seem interested in giving him too many softballs. All in all, it was a pretty interesting chat – and it didn’t dissolve into a screaming match, so that’s an improvement over most political discussions today!
