Jill Zarin, Ree Drummond and Bloggers Celebrate at the SocialLuxe Lounge
The SocialLuxe Lounge was also a stop on the ‘Reason to Smile’ tour that benefits Operation Smile.
The 2012 Slow Churned SocialLuxe Lounge, sponsored by Dreyer’s/Edy’s® Slow Churned® Light Ice Cream was held the day before BlogHer, the national convention for bloggers, started. Held at New York City’s Arena, the club was jam-packed with celebrities like Vanessa Lachey, RHONY’s Jill Zarin, Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman blog and Food Network TV show. Top bloggers Allison Czarnecki (Petit Elefant), Marie LeBaron (Make and Takes) and Jane Maynard (This Week for Dinner) hosted the party.
Co-host Allison Czarnecki, Founder and Editor of Petit Elefant stated, “The response has been phenomenal for this year’s SocialLuxe Lounge. Tickets sold out in under a minute. Every year, the blogging and social media community grows by the millions, and it becomes harder for brands to identify and reach the most influential voices online. Our event has consistently drawn top influencers and offers brands a rare opportunity to engage on a personal level with these women. We’re thrilled to have Dreyer’s/Edy’s on board with us this year and we’re excited to use the power of the SocialLuxe community to support their “Reason to Smile” campaign.”
Guests were treated to samples of creamy tasty Dreyer’s/Edy’s slow churned ice cream. At one point, a super cute and very pregnant Vanessa Lachey handed out ice cream to all. If the bloggers headed into the photo booth and took a picture of their “ice cream smile,” then uploaded it to the Dreyer’s/Edy’s Facebook page, $5 would be donated to Operation Smile. The company’s goal is to get 25,000 photos before summer ends. The monies would help Operation Smile to provide over 500 reconstructive surgeries for children all over the world to correct cleft lip and palate and other facial deformities.
Jill Zarin gave a demonstration of Bissell’s new SpotBot’s Pet Deep Cleaner and was overwhelmed with fans. She chatted, laughed and hugged almost everyone she met. Ree Drummond greeted fans, laughed and had a wonderful time interacting with fellow food bloggers.
The “primp and pamper” party was filled with women bloggers of all stripes (mommy, food, fashion and more) laughing, networking and having their moment of zen with a cool glass of wine as they geared up for BlogHer.
As I walked out of the party, the sounds of women laughing and enjoying themselves filled my ears.
