Jessica Simpson Finally Had Her Baby!
After eight million months of pregnancy, it’s a girl for Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson!
Is it just me, or was Jessica Simpson pregnant for a really, REALLY long time? Maybe between all the speculation, wedding drama, and actual pregnancy time, it just seems like she’s been carrying that baby for eight million months. But hey, guess what? She finally gave birth! Hoorah!
The usual suspects—Us Weekly, People, and so on—confirmed this afternoon that Jessica and fiancé Eric Johnson welcomed their little bundle of joy on this morning (that’s Tuesday, for those of who may have recently emerged from a time machine or what have you). The little girl—that’s right, it’s a girl!—weighed 9 lbs. 13 oz. and measured in at 21 ¾”.
The baby’s name? Maxwell Drew Johnson. An unusual name for a girl, but hey. They can’t all be Moxie CrimeFighter.
Jessica (or at least, her webmaster) also took a moment to post an announcement on her website, just to make it extra official:
Not going to lie: For one very brief instant, it occurred to me that a really brilliant piece of trolling would involve a tabloid making up the rumor that Jessica had finally given birth, (it’s not like they weren’t already doing something dangerously close to that, anyway) hacking her website, and putting up that message just to screw with us all—but as far as I know, it’s the real deal this time.
In any event, congratulations to the happy family! Now who wants to start the betting pool on whether they’ll sell photos of little Maxwell to a magazine like Jessica Alba, Tweet them like Hilary Duff, or hide them away like Maggie Gyllenhaal?
Just kidding. Sort of. But really: Congratulations!
