Jane Fonda, Diane Kruger and Eva Longoria Blew Up the Cannes Red Carpet
Yesterday was the first day of the Cannes Film Festival and the gowns were amazing on the red carpet!

Good lord! Last night was the first red carpet of Cannes, and it was so amazing, we can only wonder what stars like Eva Longoria, Diane Kruger and Jessica Chastain also brought with them. The festival lasts ‘til May 27, 2012. They must have brought a huge amount of luggage with them! Last night’s movie was Wes Andersons’s Moonrise Kingdom. It’s a typically quirky Anderson-style dramedy starring Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton.
Whenever you get a large contingent of stars on a red carpet, you also unfortunately get a few gowns that should have stayed in that large steamer trunk instead of parading around on a celeb with oodles of cameras to record the moment. Jessica Chastain and Freida Pinto, what happened to you? Let’s start on a high note with the best dressed.
Best Dressed
Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger looked so regal she could be channeling another famous blonde, the late Princess Grace of Monaco, in this mint gown with an attached sheer cape by Giambattista Valli.
Eva Longoria

Who cares that the train of Eva’s Marchesa gown was bigger than she is? Eva looked incredible. We’re just wondering how much that gown weighs!
Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda is how old? She’s still sexy and smokin’ in this figure-flattering Atelier Versace gown. We want to look like her when we’re 74. That’s right: this sexy woman is 74. Long may she rock!
Fan Bing Bing

Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing always makes an impression on the red carpet at Cannes. This exquisitely embroidered gown is making us swoon.

Berenice Bejo

The Artist’s Berenice Bejo looked glorious in a red shutter pleated Louis Vuitton gown with a long train.
Virginie Ledoyen

Sometimes less is more. French actress Virginie Ledoyen is breath-taking in a clean-cut column gown.
Freida Pinto and Jessica Chastain up next!

The Chinese actress wore it best. Everything else was like the Cannes Met Gala.
Fan Bing Bing’s dress is indeed one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen lately.
