And there goes another one of those power couples pretty much everyone absolutely loved: Heidi Klum and Seal are officially separating. Siiiiiiiigh.

Radar Online and TMZ both reported the news early on Saturday, though at the time, it was unconfirmed; their reps hadn’t commented yet, and a source close to the couple reportedly told People, “They’ve been fighting a lot lately, but they have no plans to announce a split right now. They’re not divorcing.” However, the source also noted that due to professional commitments, the pair had been spending a lot of time apart recently. Furthermore, TMZ pointed out that Heidi went to the Golden Globes without Seal and that the last photo she Tweeted of the two of them was back in December.

Trouble in paradise? Apparently yes, because they confirmed to People on Sunday that they were splitting up. A statement released by the couple reads as follows:

"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

"We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

Awww. Sad. But people do grow apart, and it’s usually better to recognize that fact sooner rather than later. Heidi and Seal wed in 2005 at Seal’s vacation home in Mexico. They have four children, and they became known for both their elaborate couples Halloween costumes and the lavish parties at which they renewed their vows every year.

Though TMZ reported that the split had something to do with Heidi being fed up with Seal’s “volcanic temper” (no infidelity here!), whether that’s actually the case remains to be seen. Is an actual divorce in the cards? Maybe, but we don't know yet.
