Heather Locklear Hospitalized for Possible Prescription Drug/Alcohol Disaster
Heather Locklear wound up in the hospital yesterday after an incident that may have involved a mixture of prescription drugs and alcohol. Our best goes out to her and her family.
Yesterday was a scary day for Heather Locklear and her family: The actress ended up hospitalized following a 911 call, possibly due to a dangerous mix of prescription drugs and alcohol.
TMZ broke the news on Thursday, stating that Heather’s sister called 911 at 2:05pm PST. The fire department and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call; upon arrival, paramedics determined that Heather needed to be hospitalized. Sources also told TMZ that the reason for the initial call was that Heather had mixed prescription drugs with alcohol, though whether she did so intentionally was unclear. Our guess is that it was accidental, but that’s purely conjecture on our part.
Later, a spokesperson for the actress told TMZ that Heather was awake and responsive when she arrived at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA, and is responding well to treatment. Furthermore, her parents, who are currently at her side, released a statement saying that she is medically stable: “She is in no danger and she’s going to be just fine,” said Bill and Diane Locklear. According to People, Kris Carraway-Bowman, a spokesperson for the hospital, declined to disclose any additional medical information about Heather; all we know is that she arrived at 2:30pm and was asleep by 8pm.
Her prognosis is good, though, and TMZ’s sources tell them that hopefully Heather will be released today. It’s been a tough day on the family; Heather’s 14-year-old daughter Ava Sambora Tweeted this last night:
Though at least the Jersey Shore gang was on hand to help her feel better later on:
Hey, what can we say? Sometimes, stupid TV is exactly what you need. Our very best goes out to Heather and her family.
